Some advice for a "normal" yet magic WE in Milan. Italian below

An anonymous street in the Southern suburbs of Milan. One of
those streets meant to pass by, not to stop at. And yet, stop in front of
the Scaldapensieri bookshop, walk in, and it will be like entering Narnia.
The booksellers’ knowledgeable advice and their friendly
attitude do make a huge difference and help understand the busy shelves bursting
with books for children and their parents. Their advice is the real
add-on of this place. But you will also find: activities for children and a
place to chat for their mothers, including a breastfeeding corner, which is
fairly rare in Milan.
The girls at the Libreria Scaldapensieri also organize
language courses for children & adults. One of their ideas, as I heard, is
to set up a Chinese class for beginners for children AND their parents (together, I mean). This I find a very good idea! ‘cause it is natural to learn together
with your child – I did this a lot in the UK. I don’t know whether the course
will take off but count me in!

La Libreria Scaldapensieri –e mai un nome fu scelto meglio - la trovi in una strada anonima alla periferia sud di Milano, una di quelle strade in cui passare senza fermarsi. E invece, entrateci; e sarà come aver varcato le porte di Narnia.
Il vero valore
aggiunto della Libreria Scaldapensieri sono le bravissime ragazze che la
gestiscono. Si vede che i (tantissimi e coloratissimi) libri sono scelti e che la scelta è ragionata. Tutto un altro mondo rispetto alle grandi librerie del centro.
Le ragazze
organizzano anche attività per bambini, durante le quali le mamme possono
gironzolare per il negozio (come ho fatto io), perdersi tra gli scaffali
colorati da tonnellate di libri e discutere. C’è anche un angolo per allattare –
una rarità, a Milano.
La Libreria
Scaldapensieri offre anche qualche corso di lingua per bimbi e adulti. Una
delle idee che stavano discutendo quando sono stata lì è quella di far partire
un corso di cinese per bambini e genitori (insieme). Questa è una grande idea,
perché è molto naturale imparare con il proprio figlio, come ho avuto modo di
sperimentare in Inghilterra. Speriamo che vada in porto...
